    Abstract:

We have applied high current density and short duration electric current pulses to deformed carbon steels at room temperature, and obtained significant refined microstructures and improved mechanical properties. This presentation will demonstrate the experimental results at various processing conditions and the theoretical understanding of the observed phenomena.
