    Abstract:

    The advantages of two-zone Vaniukov’s furnaces are studied in comparison with one-zone furnaces and the alternative autogenous processes. There are presented the results of the in-vestigations and pilot testing of different processes in a two-zone Vaniukov's furnace. There is shown the possibility to use two-zone Vaniukov's furnaces for processing the following types of raw-materials containing heavy non-ferrous metals: copper and nickel sulfide ore concentrates, oxidized nickel ores, lead concentrates with zinc content, gold containing con-centrates, zinc containing slag, copper matte and rich copper concentrates.
